Family & Northern Ireland

Created by Nadia 3 years ago

It’s the small, almost mundane memories that can be so emotive. In April 2012, Mum, Dad and I did a short visit to Northern Ireland. Uncle Ken was there with Ciara. We visited Granda’s grave together. I have a lovely photo of Uncle Ken, Mum and Dad standing together by Granda’s grave. Uncle Ken and Mum joking that Granda had a great view of the lake.

In that same visit, we were at Gillian and Paul’s. Sitting in the dining room smiling and laughing. Being family

And the final memory of that trip. Uncle Ken, Mum, Ciara and I sitting in an ice-cream shop. Uncle Ken and Mum explaining to their daughters the ice-creams they used to enjoy together on holiday. Vanilla ice-cream sandwiched between 2 wafers. Always with a flake for Mum. Ciara and I having that ice-cream with them.

So just everyday memories... those everyday memories that stay with you and make you love and feel loved.

Love you Uncle Ken.
